2. A FEW OBSERVATIONS (2/22/2010)

A retired U.S. intelligence officer with extensive service says that Al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden have shifted their assessment of America’s center of gravity (weak spot) from caring about the loss of loved ones in the Vietnam War to the economy.  If that is true and they are counting on economic disaster to help destroy America then they have a powerful ally in President Obama and his Democrat sycophants in the White House and Congress.

Obama promised to ‘’fundamentally change America,’’ presumably to a socialistic nation, and he is doing that with reckless abandon.  Some pundits suggest he is deliberately trying to bankrupt the nation with trillion-dollar social welfare programs in order to destroy the capitalist free-enterprise system.  That ‘’change’’ promise is the only one he seems to be fervently keeping.

With a $1.4 trillion deficit, a trade imbalances of $100 billion, a rapidly declining dollar, an unpredictable unemployment rate now above 10 percent, a public deficit exceeding $12 trillion, more huge spending proposals on tap and government control of industry and financial institutions plus intrusion into the lives of we the people, Osama bin Laden must be chuckling in his mountainous abode somewhere.  Leaders in Russia and China must also feel embolden.  They only respect military and economic power.

Lenin and Stalin -- who was set to nuke the United States just before he was murdered in 1953 -- referred to us as ‘’deaf mutes’’ because they thought we were so mesmerized with riches that we ignored their plans to destroy us.  Nikita Khrushchev also said he would bury us.  We, of course, under President Ronald Reagan, a president with testosterone, sunk their communist economic euphoria.

Now Obama is trying to change America to the socialistic system, and Russia has rebounded, thanks in large part to our ‘’deaf mute’’ faux pas foreign policy initiatives.  In short, we helped them up after knocking them down.

In his book Imperial Hubris the anonymous former intelligence officer noted that al Qaeda had rethought Clausewitz’s principle of attacking its foe’s ‘’center of gravity’’ and concluded America’s vulnerable point is the worship of the dollar just as the Bolsheviks believed.  The steady bleeding of the U.S. economy is Al-Qaeda’s objective.  He might have added lax or no security to the gravity center.  We are vulnerable in both the economy and security.

And that, of course, includes terrorist attacks such as 9/11 and other less dramatic and damaging assaults.   Think of the devastation of the 9/11 attack and what another of the same magnitude will do to an already reeling economy.  The former intelligence officer predicts the new assault is coming sooner than later.

The recent attempted terrorist attack on Northwest Airlines Flight 253 by a Nigerian Muslim who was trained in Yemen by Al-Qaeda already has caused economic damage and struck fear into some airline travelers.  That will not help U.S. airlines already facing deficits in an economic downturn.

It also will cost burdened taxpayers who will have to pay for a review of the aviation air security system ordered by President Obama.  Even Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano admitted the system did not work in this instance after first saying it did.  Obama corrected her after some delay and then rushed to television cameras almost daily to try and placate the American public.  He said the incident was not a failure to collect intelligence but to integrate it and understand it and that it was ‘’not acceptable.’’ 

Obama ordered investigations and accepted responsibility for the security failure and admitted the nation is at war.  This all came after harsh criticism of the boondoggle.   The president ordered such threats distributed more widely among the intelligence agencies.  Now they can argue over who is to get the first copy and ruminate among themselves about what to do.

It is ironic that Obama criticized and tried to stiffen intelligence community after criticizing and threatening them with investigation and punishment in the way they were doing their duties earlier.

Maybe now that we are at war Obama will also stop bowing to our potential enemies, store the olive branch, rest his tonsils and not try to negotiate with adamant diehards.

Some results of the new directive appear assured:  There will be longer delays in air flight and a drop in air travel, and travelers will suffer some indignities with new airport screening.    

Profiling may become necessary, but Obama’s outreach to Muslims and the absurdity of political correctness may prevent this.  Particularly disturbing in the Detroit case is that instead of treating Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the attempted bomber as a war combatant, the Obama administration provided him with a lawyer and squandered precious time in not interrogating him immediately.  It then called the matter an isolated event.

In fact some lawyers argue there is no such thing as a war combatant any more just as there is no terrorist in the government vocabulary.  Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula claimed responsibility for the attempted bombing.   Abdulmutallab said more attempts would be made.   Not to worry our ‘’deaf mutes’’ are back on the job.  The Obama administration, which is closing Guantanamo, ordered a civilian trial  for Abdulmutallab just as it did for the mastermind of 9/11. One has a right to wonder which side this president is on.

JEOPARDY

Our ‘’deaf mutes’’ may also have unwittingly placed us is jeopardy with their support of despotic governments for oil (Bush 43); helping create a nation for Israel on Islamic soil (Truman) and constant support of Israel by several presidents and allowing Israel to acquire atomic weapons; the attempted foisting of democracy on nation’s that didn’t want it, and numerous other blunders.  Obama is no deaf mute and his policies that, as he states it, are ‘’fundamentally changing America’’ are deliberate even if threatening to the safety and underpinnings of the nation.

Obama and his band of thieves, tax-cheats, lobbyists, thugs, la la land, butterfly-catching advisers, homosexuals, communists and czars as well as Chicago low-life politicians and union bosses are running rough shod over the Constitution and the nation’s traditions, morals and underpinnings.

How is this being done?  With a Democrat-controlled Congress rolling over and doing the bidding of the progressive (euphemism for Socialist) Obama whose very constitutional qualifications for his job are suspect.  He won’t even present a legitimate birth certificate and has paid lawyers thousands of dollars to keep this and his college documents secret.

The Progressive or Socialist ideology is one of government intervention and egalitarianism by taking from the rich and giving to the poor.  Government intrudes in every phase of your life under this system.

It first showed up in the administration of Theodore Roosevelt, was more pronounced in the Wilson and Franklin Roosevelt administrations and was continued by Lyndon B. Johnson.  Now, Obama is pulling out all the stops with it and changing the nature of the government by ignoring the Constitution and traditions of individual liberty.

OBAMACARE

Obama appears to be following the blueprints of radical writers Saul Alinsky and a couple of Columbia University professors – Richard A. Cloward and Frances Fox Piven – in trying to gain government control at the expense of individual liberty and the transfer wealth from the rich to the poor.  Simply put, their philosophy is to overwhelm and collapse the system whether through voter registration, poverty claimants, or health care claims.  This tactic bankrupted New York and California, and some economists and pundits claim it will do the same to the United States.

David Horowitz, former radical and an admitted former Communist, likens Obama to the ‘’Manchurian Candidate’’ who, he claims, is a tool of the far left with a radical agenda to change the United States.  A giant step in this direction was the recent disgraceful performance of Harry Reid and on-the-take senators in the passage of Obama’s welfare health proposal.

The president appears to have followed the advice of one of his czar planners in the White House, Robert Creamer, a convicted felon (for bank fraud), who outlined the health plan in a manual while in prison.  A close White House adviser, David Axelrod, called Creamer’s manual ‘’a blueprint for further (Progressive) victories.’’

Creamer’s manual also follows the teaching of Alinsky and includes a 10-point plan for ramming through universal health care in 2009 on a crisis basis well before the upcoming elections this year.

‘’To win,’’ Creamer, the husband of Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Il), said ‘’we must not just generate understanding, but emotion – fear, revulsion, anger, disgust.’’  They did.

WHAT IT DOES?

No one can figure out exactly what the health plan does or what it will ultimately cost because no one has read it, and it appears to be a work in progress.  We do know that thanks to Harry Reid’s legerdemain it did advance the culture of corruption to a gaudy art form.  It is loaded with back-room deals (some still secret) that will add at least $2.5 trillion in spending over 10 years.

Several senators as well as special interests made off like bandits from the selling of votes, particularly those of Mary Landrieu (Louisiana Purchase) and Ben Nelson (Cornhusker kickback).  Landrieu bragged about it.  They even bought the vote of that paragon of virtue, Sen. Joe Lieberman, by eliminating the government insurance plan and who knows what else Joe got?  Joe gave in just like he did with his Clinton impeachment vote after grandstanding and flaunting his alleged virtue.

Sen. Chris Dodd (D.-Con.), who is retiring rather than face re-election,  received $100 million for a new hospital and who knows what else.  Sen. Max Baucus, who wrote the bill, got Medicare benefits extended to small group of miners in Montana and who knows what else.  Baucus caused a ruckus when he gave a slurring, disgraceful, drunken speech on the Senate floor.

There are too many goodies in the bill to be noted here but drug companies (Big Pharma) got its share of favors as did Mutual of Omaha, ACORN, and Sens. Patrick Leahy and Bernie Sanders of Vermont with Medicaid payments and billions in government health care centers.  Reid said everybody got something.  Attorneys general in several states are planning to challenge the bill as unconstitutional.

During the campaign Obama promised transparency and said the hearings would be aired on C-Span television, and the promise, made several times, was shown extensively by newscasts depicting the president as a prevaricator.

CONTRAST WITH FED ACT

It is interesting that the Senate Healthcare bill passed on Christmas Eve, which seems to be the best time for political skullduggery to ram unpopular special interest legislation through Congress.

It was in December, 1913, when the Federal Reserve Act was passed under similar circumstances.  That Act handed the nation’s money and credit to a group of private bankers and has all but destroyed the dollar and the nation’s economy.  Obamacare may finish the job?

There are so many similarities in the way the Federal Rrserve Act (Fed Act) and the Healthcare bill were passed that one wonders if old Harry Reid didn’t study the way the Fed Act was manipulated and use it as a blueprint.

It was passed during Christmas week in 1913 while many lawmakers were out of town after a promise that it would not be taken up.  It was speedily rammed through the Senate on an almost panic basis by a majority of Democrats.

Then a conference committee to iron out differences between the House and Senate versions of the bill met between the hours of 1-to-4 a.m. and excluded Republicans.  In those early morning hours of Dec. 22, 1913 the conferees adjusted some 20 to 40 differences. 

The late historian Antony Sutton in his book The Federal Reserve Conspiracy wrote that the tactics used in passage of the Fed Act are ‘’…ominously comparable to the rubber stamp lawmaking of the banana republics.’’  He added:  ‘’If we are a society that lives by rules then there is no Federal Reserve Act.’’  That statement could also be applied to the Healthcare bill.

Sutton said ‘’Most of Congress had no idea of the contents of the final (Federal Reserve) bill and certainly none had the opportunity to reflect with the broad base of the electorate.’’  Sound familiar?

OBAMA’S TRUE COLORS

Obama gave himself a B+ for his first year performance as president.  Socialist sympathizers may go along with that but conservative Americans don’t buy it.  He has two sides of his mouth and uses both extensively.  He uses crises to push his agenda and if he doesn’t have one, he creates one such as bailouts, global warming or healthcare following the Alinsky playbook.  Just look at the record.

Like health care, Obama put a crisis tag on carbon dioxide emissions and bought Chicken Little’s (Al Gore) global warming hysterical argument and then jetted off to Copenhagen to try and get the United States into another global treaty.  The effort failed but Obama kept an ace in the hole – regulation by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Before he went to Copenhagen his EPA administrator, Lisa P. Jackson, announced the agency would do by regulation what it could not do by global treaty or congressional approval of the ridiculous and costly cap-and-trade legislative proposal.  Some lawmakers complained the regulations on industry would hurt the economic recovery and put a lot of economic expansion on hold.

The Copenhagen treaty would have taken another brick out of U.S. sovereignty just as joining the United Nation’s World Court and giving Interpol a free hand in America will do.  Obama has extended to the International Police Force unrestrained power to operate in the United States and to bypass the safeguards of citizens under the Constitution.

These actions are further proof that Obama cares little for precedents or traditions concerning individual liberties guaranteed under the Constitution.

Madison or Marx?  Glenn Beck, tough critic of Obama and his minions, posed the question of whether their ideology is closer to that of James Madison, one if not the principle writers of the U.S. Constitution, or Karl Marx, who wrote the Communist Manifesto.  He concluded it was that of Marx.  One would be hard pressed to prove him wrong from the record of the Obama administration to date.

They are trying to take over a sixth of the economy with a government-run, mandated healthcare system that carries an unconstitutional fine for offenders; they also plan a government-run carbon dioxide limit on industry by EPA.  The IRS would not only check tax cheats  (those in the administration would be a good start) but also those that don’t have health care.   The administration also has taken over banks and the auto industry and is considering how to eliminate conservative talk radio.

FRIENDS

There’s an old saying that you can tell a man by the company he keeps.  If that’s true, put Obama down for an F-.  That’s below failing.  Let’s have a peek at some of the more prominent odd-balls he has surrounded himself with both present and past including some of the 30 or more czars he has in his stall to get around Congress, which isn’t looking anyway.

We’ve all read about the tax cheats some of whom did not make it to the Cabinet but continue to advise and operate anyway.  The most visible one with clout is Tom Daschel, a voter-rejected former senator who resigned for not paying his taxes.   Daschel is still wheeling and dealing on K Street as a consultant to Alston and Bird, one of the largest healthcare law firms.  He is also a board member of Mayo Clinic.  Another fired member of the Obama team, Van Jones, an admitted Communist, is also still active although not officially a member of the team.

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson withdrew his nomination for Commerce secretary in a ‘’pay-to-play’’ involvement; Nancy Killefer, who was expected to become deputy director of the Office of Management and Budget, withdrew for tax problems; Attorney Gen. William Holder, who is lenient in prosecuting terrorists, won approval despite his questionable involvement with the Clinton administration’s pardon of Marc Rich, whose wife was a generous Clinton library donor.

Timothy Geitner, who is in hot water now over allegedely telling AIG to withhold information, won Senate approval and Obama’s backing despite failure to pay his taxes. Three members of the Chicago political machine of Mayor Richard Daley -- chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, Senior Adviser David Axelrod, and Senior Adviser Valerie Jarett – are wheeling and dealing behind the scenes at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue despite connections to Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich and the Chicago political machine.  They were never charged with any wrongdoing in the Chicago political mess despite their closeness to it.

But Obama’s association with all of those mentioned above plus the bigoted Rev. Jeremiah Wright, William Ayers, the former radical who bombed public buildings and bragged about it during the Vietnam War, slum king Antonio Rezko, and Louis Farrakhan, the nation of Islam leader, should tell us something about him.

Some others still aboard include:

Cass Sustein. The regulator czar who thinks animals should be permitted to sue people, doesn’t count the killing of babies as homicide, is against gun rights and favors population and internet controls.

John Holdren, science czar, also believes in population control and thinks the Constitution permits this as well as compulsory abortion during a population crisis.

Carol M Browner, global warming czar who has socialist ties in her association with the Commission for a Sustainable World Society.  That group supports ‘’global governance’’ and wants rich nations to shrink their economies to address climate change.

Nancy Sutley, chairwoman of the White House Council on Environmental Quality. She was the first openly gay or lesbian to join the Obama team and is a former aide to Carol Browner who headed the EPA in the Clinton administration.  She hails from Los Angeles where she was involved in environmental policies.

Arne Duncan, Education Secretary, former chief of Chicago schools who once recommended the opening of a high school for gay, lesbian and transgender students.

Kevin Jennings, named as Assistant Deputy Secretary of Education, Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools, a newly-created post.  Jennings also is openly gay and founder of an organization dedicated to promoting pro-homosexual and curricula in public schools.

Hilda L. Solis, former California congresswoman with reported Communist ties is very pro-labor and endorsed by Andy Stern, president of the Services Employees International Union (SEIU).  WorldNetDaily reported Solis ‘’has close ties to U.S. communist and socialist organizations and has sent representatives to functions organized by national parties for both ideologies.’’

Mark Lloyd, the diversity czar, frowns on private ownership of the media and denies that the so-call Fairness Doctrine, which requires both pro and con positions, has been repealed. 

Harold Koh, former dean of Yale Law School, who would undermine the Constitution by elevating international law above it.  He also has been accused of thinking Sharia (Islamic) law is acceptable in some cases.

Mitchell (Amanda) Simpson.  There are news reports at this writing that Obama has picked this person, who would be the first transgender in his administration, to be a senior adviser at the Commerce Department.  Simpson underwent six surgeries to make the transition from male to female.  Simpson is a former test pilot.

These people running the Obama administration may not be deaf mutes but their policies are probably making our enemies sleep well as ‘’Tea-baggers’’ and other concerned citizens sleep fitfully.  Add to these groups the ACORN and SEIU thugs and you have a motley bunch far outside of the proverbial mainstream.

BUSH 43 PAVED OBAMA’S WAY

Although President Obama is spending with reckless abandon and pushing the country toward third world status with little regard for the Constitution, George W. Bush (Dubah) paved the way for Obama’s attempt to destroy the free market system.

Obama and his Progressive (Socialist) gang, who touted ‘’fundamental change,’’ was given a head start and excuse for their actions by Dubah, who handed over the economy to the same Wall Street gang that Obama later embraced.  The people – including Henry Paulson of Goldman Sachs, Timothy Geithner, former head of the New York Federal Reserve Bank and now Treasury Secretary, plus Ben Bernanke, chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank – whose actions or inactions caused the recession and never saw it coming, were handed the authority to fix it at taxpayer expense.

They are still working on it with sub-rosa deals and no concrete results, Obama’s statements to the contrary, although they have handed taxpayers trillion-dollar tabs in the process.  Dubah apologized for abandoning free-market principles with his original $700 billion bailout plan designed by his Wall Street cronies.  ‘’I’ve abandoned free-market principles to save the free-market system,’’ Bush 43 told the nation.  The only thing wrong with that is that he didn’t save the free-market system and gave Obama a large step forward to ‘’fundamentally change’’ the nation from a free-market system based on the Constitution to one of fascism.

It is interesting to note that Al Martin, a retired Navy Lt. Commander and former officer in the Office of Naval Intelligence, predicted that by the end of his first term Bush 43 would absorb the surplus he inherited, which was supposed to have been used to reduce the national debt and repay ‘’the money his father swiped from social security.’’  He did.

In fact, Bush 43 blew a $128 billion surplus in his first year and recorded a deficit in each year thereafter, the last being for $482 billion.  That set the stage for Obama’s first year deficit of $1.4 trillion plus a $1.35 trillion forecast by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) for this fiscal year.  The CBO projects a $9.3 trillion deficit for the next decade.

Martin, who claims he was in on Iran Contra fraud schemes with the Bushes and worked closely with Jeb Bush on several frauds, labeled the whole Bush clan as crooks with certain fraud specialties.  In his book The Conspirators, Secrets of an Iran-Contra Insider Martin lists George W. Bush’s specialty as insurance and security fraud; Jeb’s as oil and gas fraud; Neil Bush’s as real estate fraud; the brother of Bush 41, Prescott, and his son, Wally, as security fraud.  Bush 41, Martin said, was a specialist in all of the above.

If Martin’s account is true, and to this writer’s knowledge the Bushes have not sued him for libel, which would have made headline news, there is little wonder about Bush 43’s deficits, budget legerdemain, or his coziness with Wall Street and especially Goldman Sachs.  But remember ‘’honest’’ Bill Clinton also tapped Goldman Sachs’ Robert Reuben to head his Treasury Department.  Regardless of who started the sorry mess, it looks like we’re headed for bankruptcy and fascism unless the public revolts overwhelmingly at the polls.

Moody’s Investors Service recently warned that the U.S. credit rating could be threatened if there is not improvement in its finances.  When the dooms day is due is not certain, but that we are headed toward that day if there is no change appears pretty agreed upon by several reliable economits.

One other note, if it had not been for the ineptness of Bush 41 we never would have had Bill Clinton and if it hadn’t of been for the ineptness of bush 43 with help from Progressive and inept John McCain we may not have had Barack Hussein Obama, the man of (Progressive or Socialist) change.

So, when you see a sign with Dubah’s face and a caption saying ‘’Do you miss me yet?’’ think hard about it.  Anyone may be preferable to Obama, but the Bushes were not much better.

SCOTUS FLAP

There he goes again as Ronald Reagan used to say about Jimmy Carter.  But I’m talking about Barack Hussein Obama and his wrongful and impolite, face-to-face criticism of the Supreme Court, which was a captive audience to his State-of-the-Union address.  Wrong because the High Court did not reverse a century of law in the so-called Citizens United casepertaining to election financing, or the McCain-Feingold campaign finance law. 

Obama played loose with the facts for self-promotion while falsely castigating the Court and stating that the free-speech decision opened the floodgates to such special interests as foreign corporations and others.  He failed to mention that a 1996 law prohibits foreign nations or corporations from such activity.  He also failed to mention that the majority decision stated specifically that it was not reversing a 1907 law dealing with the subject.

  One thing Obama did make clear -- if he hasn’t already with the appointment of Sonia Sotomayor to the bench -- all of the justices who rendered this majority opinion were not the type he will appoint to the bench in the future.  They apparently will all lean as far left as Obama and have little regard for strict interpretation of the Constitution.

STRIKES AT DEMOCRACY

Obama also said the ruling ‘’strikes at democracy itself.’’  Now who has struck more at democracy than Barack Obama with his mandatory health care bill with penalties; proposed cap and trade legislation; environmental regulations; the automobile industry takeover, bailouts (he’s got another one now called jobs bill) and on an on?  Thanks to SIEU and ACORN Obama didn’t have any difficulty raising money and getting elected with goon tactics and false voter registrations last time.  All this was very democratic, of course.  And the Supreme Court decision also applies to unions that support Obama.  Not to defend corporate money, but there is no hard evidence that corporate money corrupts any more than union money does.  There is no doubt that the election process is broken but not because of the Supreme Court decision.  The whole process is a mess.  Obama makes it sound like he is defending democracy while the Supreme Court isn’t.  The truth is the ‘’flim-flam man’’ seldom if ever does, and the Supreme Court does occasionally.

ROBERTS AND PRECEDENTS

In the Citizens United decision, Chief Justice John Roberts in a separate concurrence made it clear he is not wedded to past mistakes of the Court just to satisfy the precedent and tradition of ‘’star decisis.’’  Pundits immediately began wondering if that might apply to Roe V. Wade in the future as well as the ridiculous usurpation of power from the states and the people by Congress under the Constitution’s Commerce Clause, which has allowed it to regulate just about everything.  The courts have rarely interfered. 

Justice Roberts wrote:  ‘’When considering whether to re-examine a prior erroneous holding, we must balance the importance of having constitutional questions decided against the importance of having them decided right.  He added that ‘’stare decisis is not an end in itself.’’ 

There is no reason why bad decisions like Roe v. Wade which is not even in the Constitution should not be reversed.  But Justice Roberts has only four other justices who are likely to side with him plus maybe Justice John Paul Stevens who may soon retire.  If Obama is allowed to appoint one or more justices to the Court, and he likely will, then sadly Chief Justice Roberts’ views won’t be decisive.

THE AGENDA

Recently on this site I wrote an essay about Stalin and Lenin calling our presidents and policy makers ‘’deaf mutes’’ because they felt our leaders were playing into the Soviets’ strategy to destroy the United States by their inordinate interest in wealth.  I specifically stated Obama was no deaf mute but implied you couldn’t tell by his economic policies. 

He says he is no quitter and will still launch an all-our fight for his healthcare bill (now on the back burner) and the rest of his agenda despite the fact polls show Americans not in agreement with him.  They spoke clearly in the special January Massachusetts senatorial election.  Does this man want control over our lives enough to risk total defeat at the polls, or is he getting it?  Apparently he is not and is regrouping with his former election team for the November contests.

Americans may well send an even stronger message to Obama and his stable of Chicago-style politicians and czars in November.  But if he doesn’t fit Stalin’s definition of deaf mute, he at least seems to be belligerently obstinate for his ill-conceived progressive agenda that Americans apparently oppose.

CONGRESS BYPASSED AGAIN

Despite the fact that Obama has an overwhelming majority in Congress he still has to resort to executive orders to try to get some of his ill-conceived programs into operation.  As an example, the Senate turned down a proposal for a bipartisan budget task force to come up with ways to tackle the $12.3 trillion national debt.  Obama countered by saying he may appoint such a commission via executive order.

So he is trying to farm out an important responsibility and make it look good to some voters, even if it would have no force.  Another act of legerdemain was a proposed three-year freeze on discretionary spending excluding national security, Medicare, Medicaid and social security.  The 1 percent cut in spending will not amount to a spit in the ocean in a $1.35 trillion budget deficit this year and will come on top of an estimated 10 percent increase in such spending last year.  Swing that axe, Mr. President. 

Obama’s new $3.8 trillion budget and spending plans will result in deficits of $1.56 trillion this year and $1.3 trillion next year.  In addition to the budget task force Obama is considering executive orders and other administrative measures to get his stalled legislative agenda going – another authority abused by Bush 43. 

AMNESTY TO GAIN VOTES

Expect Obama and his union friends to make a strong push to obtain amnesty for all illegal aliens (IA’s) often estimated at 12 million but which some estimates go as high as 20 million.  They want union dues of the IA’s as well as their progressive (socialist) votes.  Unlike Americans the illegal aliens are not used to individual liberties and are more prone to manipulation. 

The administration has already granted an 18-month amnesty to about 200,000 illegal Haitians because of the recent earth quake there and is considering letting in more.  They already are flocking to register.  The poor Mexican IA’s may not be praying for an earth quake south of the border but one would help their cause.

The administration is exercising its ‘’never let a disaster go to waste’’ doctrine.  If Obama grants amnesty to these people he counts on getting their votes. His former adviser – Eliseo Medena – noted recently:  Latinos and immigrants ‘’voted overwhelmingly for progressive (socialist) candidates.  Barack Obama got two out of every three voters that showed up.’’  Medina is international executive vice-president of Service Employees international Union (SEIU) and a frequent visitor to the White House.  SEIU is closely linked to ACORN (Association of Community Organizations Reform) for which Obama has done so-called community work and supports with taxpayer money.

  If it passes a proposed resolution in New Hampshire opposing amnesty for illegal immigrants will be sent to Congress and Obama.  It probably won’t get much attention, but it rightly states that amnesty rewards illegal aliens for breaking laws and increases the costs of Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security among other benefits.

OUTREACH TO MUSLIMS

Obama is still working on his outreach to Muslims and making it more attractive for them to immigrate to the United States.  From his extension of the olive branch to Iran and other Islamist states to his speech in Cairo in June, 2008, plus his actions in between, Obama has been cozying up to Islamists as some European nations have gone in the other direction. 

His latest overtures are naming a special envoy to the 56-member Organization of the Islamic Conference and a planned trip to Indonesia in March.  Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has just returned from a tour to the Middle East.  Obama said he looked forward to continuing the dialogue with Muslims during his Indonesian trip.

In his Cairo speech he said he would ease the rules for Muslims charitable giving (zakat) although one Muslim church group has been convicted of donating money to terrorists.  Obama also defended the custom of Muslim women wearing the ‘’hijab’’ and ‘’burqa,’’ a full-length garment that covers the entire body with only slits for the eyes.

In France, Immigration Minister Eric Besson wants ‘’the wearing of the full veil to be systematically considered as proof of insufficient integration into French society.’’  A French parliamentary panel also is considering plans to rescind a ban on wearing the veils in public places such as schools and hospitals but not in public places and the street.  President Nicolas Sarkozy has said they are not welcome on French territory.

In a related development Denmark’s government has called for enforcement of existing rules to demand that students, teachers and workers show their faces.  But the Obama administration in its obvious pampering to Muslims refuses even to use the words ‘’Islam,’’ Islamic,’’ or ‘’Islamist’’ in documents from the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security describing terrorist enemies of the United States..

Whether Obama’s close Muslim ties from childhood and the fact that his ancestors on the paternal side were Muslims has anything to do with his sentiments may be open to question.  But the fact that he indulges them is evident in many ways.

One other note:  Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi claims that Obama is a Muslim who studied in an Islamic school in Indonesia.  Please say it isn’t so, Mr. President, and show us that damn authentic long-form birth certificate that will prove it and put the matter to rest.

IS FED BAILING OUT THE WORLD?

Congressman Ron Paul has raised an interesting question in one of his weekly columns.  He wonders ‘’if the US taxpayer is secretly bailing out the entire world, country by country’’?

What raises Paul’s suspicion is that the European Central Bank gave assurances that Greece will get the aid it needs to prevent its impending financial default.  Naturally, as Paul points, out we don’t know ‘’because current laws exempt agreements between The Fed and foreign central banks from disclosure or audit.’’

The congressman noted that several other countries have and do face the same crisis as Greece.  He also noted that many have strong ties to Goldman Sachs, which at least three presidents have called on to get their Treasury Department  secretaries  to run the nation’s economy with close cooperation from the Fed.

It would not be the first time the Fed has bailed out foreign countries.  It has actually acted as a central bank for third-World countries such as Mexico, which the original Federal Reserve Act never intended.  It gets away with a lot through administrative procedures, which the bankers left wide open when they wrote their own law at Jekyll Island, Ga., a century ago this year.

Incidentally, Robert Rubin, Bill Clinton’s Treasury Secretary, spearheaded the Mexican bailout and Golden Sachs, which he formerly headed, came out smelling like a rose.

The American people have the right to know if they have to pick up the tab for the financial default of other countries.  That’s why Paul’s law calling for a complete and meaningful audit of the Fed, including pacts with foreign central banks, needs to passed and soon.  Better yet, abolish this turkey.
